Borrowed Light

I covered my eyes so the night could breathe through me. Wings gathered where vision once lived, soft messengers of things I was not ready to see. They did not give me sight they gave me weightless silence, a glow that exists without needing to be understood. And for a moment, darkness learned how to shine.
