Rainy night
A rainy night came. Drops were tapping one by one on the window glass, as if the sky was full of its heart and wanted to speak to the earth. The streets were empty, the lights were foggy, and the air was heavy with the smell of damp earth. I walked under a small umbrella; the patter of rain was the only music of the night. Sometimes thunder would roar and lightning would momentarily illuminate the city, like a photographic flash that revives old memories. On such a night, one's heart becomes calm. Everything is washed away; the dust of the day, the payments, even the disturbing thoughts. Only rain and the silence of you that comes after each drop. A rainy night is a night of forgiveness.
